Overcoming limits, daring new approaches and making a difference – for that you need partners. That is why the South African adventurer Mike Horn and Geberit formed a long-standing partnership. Geberit is not only accompanying Horn on his 'Pangaea' expedition, it also shares his vision: to sensitize people around the world about environmental questions and encourage them to make a contribution of their own.
With hoisted sails, on foot, by dog sled, on the saddle of a horse or a bicycle ‒ there is probably no natural or humanly propelled means of transportation that Mike Horn has not used. He is accompanied frequently on part of his journey by a group of young people known as the "Young Explorers". The idea is for them to learn what needs to be done by gathering their own impressions and experiences in joint projects with Mike Horn. Numerous follow-up initiatives such as beach cleanup or reforestation projects show just how contagious Horn's enthusiasm is.
The Young Explorers also have their turn in social aid projects initiated by Geberit. In February 2011, a group with six "Young Explorers" was at the Pentakatha School in India. Geberit had carried out a sanitation aid project there in 2010. The young people made a valuable contribution to the project.
