On the Duofix high-speed train
Test installation on Swiss construction site
The new Duofix element brings a significant increase in efficiency to the construction site - especially in combination with the system.
The new Duofix element brings a significant increase in efficiency. A Swiss installer confirms this during a test installation.
An apartment block near the protected moorland in Pfäffikon ZH (CH) is showing its age. The renovation is in full swing. Site manager Carlos Ribeiro from the sanitary company responsible in Wallisellen can now experiment with the brand new elements for toilets and washbasins.

“Goes much faster now“
In a few simple steps, he clips the feet of the Duofix element for the WC into the floor profile of the Duofix system and pulls the blue frame to the correct height - until the laser beam marking the height is flush with the reference marking on the frame. Carlos Ribeiro nods with satisfaction. He then tightens the screws and turns the wall anchors into the horizontal wall profile. A tug on both sides and the frame is fixed in place. “It's much quicker now,“ he comments. “You used to have to attach the feet by hand. Now I don't even have to bend down.“
Next up is the pipe bracket for the discharge pipe. He slides the bracket back slightly so that the connection bend fits neatly and without tension through the hole in the floor. “In the past, I would have had to get a different connection elbow - this way it's more practical.“ The clamp closes with a click and the elbow holds. The installation is completed in just a few minutes. “It was quick with the old Duofix too, but it took a few minutes longer,“ says Carlos Ribeiro.
Labour halved
The new Duofix washbasin element on the floor-to-ceiling pre-wall has a similar look. He also clips this into the floor profile of the Duofix system. He installs the vertical studs flush with the Duofix.
Using a screwdriver, he pulls a lateral fastening bracket out of the corner of the blue frame. “Previously, you had to fit special brackets - two screws into the Duofix element on each side and two on the system stand.“ With the lateral fastening, the work is halved. “It's really quick. It's my favourite way,“ says Carlos Ribeiro with a grin. Now all he has to do is attach the threaded screws for the washbasin fastening. There are now pre-perforated holes for this. “That's also very practical.“
All in all, a clear time saving - and this will add up noticeably with the number of Duofix frames that the installer is likely to fit over the next few months
Know-how Installed
The new Duofix element makes life easier for sanitary professionals. It offers many new and enhanced functions. These give the sanitary installer more flexibility on the construction site. Handling is also easier - especially in combination with the Geberit Duofix system. The new Duofix element also impresses in terms of sustainability thanks to the optimised use of materials without compromising on stability.
