A modular masterpiece

Hotel Bever Lodge, Bever (CH)

Bever Lodge, the three-star hotel with a difference, is aimed at active guests with a passion for summer and winter sports. While many hotels and guest houses in the region offer luxury accommodation, Johanna and Marco Zeller consciously focus on “reducing to the max” – a motto that is proving very popular.

Switzerland’s first wooden modular hotel is located in the heart of the Engadine and consists almost exclusively of prefabricated wooden modules. Only the foundation on which the modules are stacked is made of solid concrete. The 41 hotel rooms were assembled with exquisite care and in record time at the workshop of the Savognin-based company Uffer AG. The special modular design massively reduces the building time.

Opened right on time for the winter season
The hotel, which is located in the municipality of Bever, was opened right on time for the 2015 winter season – a mere eight months after the groundbreaking ceremony. Since then, its guests have been able to relax in its spa area, which includes a sauna. The hotel’s restaurant, which spoils its guests with a mixture of local and international cuisine, is on hand to quell those hunger pangs. In addition, floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that the rooms are flooded with natural light while also offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains.

Geberit know-how

The Geberit GIS installation system is the clever solution for special construction situations. The frames and all the required connections are prefabricated in a workshop to ensure a perfect fit. Having arrived at their destination, the units then only have to be installed and put into operation – this saves time and reduces the coordination effort on the building site.
