Back to the previous employer

Came to stay – at least the second time round. After a brief interlude at another company, Sales Consultant Cosmin Paun was drawn back to Geberit.
“I took the risk and have no regrets.” Cosmin Paun, Sales Consultant at Geberit’s Romanian sales company, looks back on his time after Geberit, which is also a time before Geberit. In March 2020, the then 37-year-old left the sanitary technology group to join a South Korean technology giant. “In addition to the well-known name, I was also attracted by the high budget conditions,” he says openly.
Not as hoped
But it was to be a short episode, as the construction and planning engineer returned to Geberit on 1 June. “It just wasn’t what I had imagined.”
In addition to his team colleagues, he also missed the clear structures and the Geberit sales model. Wholesalers play a key role in the three-tier model because the company sells its products to them and not directly to plumbers. “The much closer relationships with wholesalers suit me,” he says.
No regrets
As there were also major cultural differences at the new employer, he realised after just two months that the new job did not suit him. He then contacted the Geberit Sales Manager in Romania, who welcomed him back into the team with open arms. After all, the charismatic Sales Consultant was also missed at Geberit – and the position had not yet been filled.
He has no regrets about his temporary switch, because: “You only know if you like the food once you've tried it.” What does he take away from the experience? “Money is less important than an appreciative corporate culture, a strong team spirit and a wide range of development opportunities within the company.”

The re-employment of former employees brings a decisive advantage for both sides: You know each other. The employees know the organisation, its structures and culture. The company knows the person, their potential and can count on their expertise.
