The Louvre of the arab world

Art treasures between heaven and sea

Built on a man-made island close to central Abu Dhabi (AE), the Louvre Abu Dhabi – named after its famous Parisian counterpart – boasts a generous array of attractions.

Lovers of art and architecture are guaranteed to get their money’s worth at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. This is thanks in no small part to the sensational design by Jean Nouvel: The top architect spread the exhibition spaces and areas designated for other uses across no fewer than 55 individual cubes of different sizes. These are all housed under a gigantic steel dome with a diameter of 180 metres.

A sophisticated play of light
Only a few scattered rays of sunshine find their way into the interior through the steel dome’s ornately perforated shell, creating a cleverly orchestrated play of light and shade – an effect that is contributed to by the lapping waves. Visitors from all over the world can look forward to art of the finest quality in this atmospheric setting.

Geberit know-how

Like with countless buildings worldwide, the owners of the Louvre Abu Dhabi banked on the strengths of the Duofix installation elements. The characteristic blue elements are versatile, easy to install and allow for the creation of complete, load-bearing system walls with the addition of just two extra parts.
